Frankenstein

In our honors english class, we were assigned to choose a book to read of of our teacher's special little list. Guess what book I chose? You're right, FRANKENSTEIN. Despite the fact that not a single good thing happens, and it's an extremely depressing book, I LOVED it! It made you think and had an ending with a bit of a surprise. Now, with what I've heard from my dear mother's Frankenstein movie stories, the movie is NOTHING like the book (no surprise there) so don't rely on that. But now it's time for the new novel. I am trying to decide between...
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Kite Runner
Scarlet Pimpernel
or a book called the crystal cave.
so what should I do?

Scarlet Pimpernel was always a favorite of mine. I suggest that one.
Kite Runner? Was that on your teachers list? Just curious there are some adultish themes. If one of your parents have read I would ask them first before reading it.
Not to say you aren't mature enough but there were parts that I cringed when reading. There is no clean flick machine to edit the book like it did for the movie.

We are related to the Scarlet Pimpernel. Why would I lie about that? Grandpa said it so it's true. You can even ask Emily. I've always liked the name Blakely, so this is my pick. Disney ruined hunchback.

Kite runner, shmite shunner. Totally serious about the Pimpernel thing. Bring it up at the next family gathering. It's sure to generate some interestingly hilarious "discussion" or fighting. P.S. Just a heads up before the family "discussion", we're not French...or Irish...

I agree with scarlet pimpernel it is an awesome book. And when you are done you can watch the movie! That is even better.

How ever when you watch the movie make sure it is the one with Jane Seymore. NOT the TV version that was made a few years ago...SO BAD! I could only get through 1 episode.
